TRAUMA THERAPY IN ST. LOUIS & ACROSS MISSOURI

When the past still feels present

You may know that what you went through is in the past—but it doesn’t always feel that way.

Certain situations, conversations, or even small moments can bring up strong emotional or physical reactions that feel hard to explain. You might notice yourself feeling overwhelmed, shut down, on edge, or disconnected—sometimes without fully understanding why.

Trauma can affect the way you think, feel, and relate to others, often in ways that feel automatic or out of your control.

You might be noticing…

Trauma therapy isn’t about forcing you to relive the past—it’s about helping your mind and body process what hasn’t fully been resolved.

Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels safe and manageable, gently exploring what’s been coming up and beginning to understand how your experiences are showing up in your life now.

Over time, this work can help you:

  • feel more grounded and in control

  • respond rather than react

  • reconnect with yourself and others

  • move forward without feeling held back by the past

  • Feeling easily triggered or overwhelmed

  • Difficulty trusting others or feeling safe

  • Emotional numbness or disconnection

  • Replaying past experiences or intrusive thoughts

  • Avoiding certain situations, people, or emotions

  • Feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to change

My approach to trauma therapy

I take an integrative, relational approach to trauma work, tailoring therapy to your specific needs and experiences.

I often use approaches such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Schema Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and strengths-based interventions to support both symptom relief and deeper healing.

At the Core of my work is creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and not overwhelmed—so we can do meaningful work without pushing too fast.
