DEPRESSION THERAPY IN ST. LOUIS & ACROSS MISSOURI

When everything starts to feel heavy

Depression doesn’t always look the same for everyone. Sometimes it feels like a constant heaviness—low energy, low motivation, and a sense that even small things take more effort than they should.

You might feel disconnected from yourself or others, lose interest in things you used to enjoy, or struggle to find a sense of direction or purpose. At times, it can feel hard to explain—or even understand—what’s going on.

Over time, these feelings can begin to affect your daily life, your relationships, and your ability to feel like yourself.

You might be experiencing…

  • Low mood or persistent sadness

  • Lack of motivation or energy

  • Feeling disconnected or numb

  • Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed

  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

  • Changes in sleep or appetite

  • Feeling stuck, hopeless, or overwhelmed

How therapy can help

Therapy isn’t about forcing you to “feel better” right away—it’s about understanding what’s contributing to how you’re feeling and finding a way forward that feels manageable.

Together, we’ll slow things down and begin to explore what’s beneath the surface. Depression often isn’t just about the present—it can be connected to patterns, experiences, and beliefs that have developed over time.

Over time, this work can help you:

  • feel more connected to yourself and others

  • regain a sense of motivation and direction

  • better understand your thoughts and patterns

  • begin making changes that feel realistic and sustainable

My approach to depression therapy

I take an integrative, relational approach to therapy, tailoring the work to your individual needs and experiences.

I often draw from approaches such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed work to support both current symptoms and deeper patterns.

At the core of my work is creating a space that feels supportive, steady, and not overwhelming—so we can work through things at a pace that feels right for you.
